hey so this tony yayo mixtape came out a couple weeks ago:
-i wish that when i had been younger and ‘cooler’ and listened to music with guitars and was secretly way more racist without knowing it, that i had been more into g-unit and 50 cent because as you obviously are aware they rule pretty much but sometimes you’re like 20 and you ‘only listen to real hip hop’ and only like things like lupe fiasco (ugh i know right but listen he talked about game boys) and i dont know kanye west i guess? and you say things about how you don’t listen to rap music that glorifies drug dealing or disrespects women and basically what you are actually saying is ‘hey rappers can you be more like nice safe white people instead of talking about things that make me feel uncomfortable‘
-anyway what i was saying is that g-unit are great and i wish that i could have been cool and ‘in on the ground floor’ of that whole thing but the closest i came was really really liking ‘hate it or love it’ when i was like 22
-okay sorry i’ll start talking about this mixtape in a second i swear
-so obviously tony yayo is mostly known for being 50 cent’s g-unit goons but oh man he’s pretty good at it and (most importantly) he has like astounding taste in beats and rappers like look at this tape its got DANNY BROWN and FRED THE GODSON on it (ON THE SAME SONG) and like, have you listened to hawaiian snow? its a whole mixtape of danny brown and tony yayo and even a little bit lil b you guys you guys you guys. the beat selection here is aces, although i prolly could have done without the flocka jam, it’s okay and all and but like, i already listen to waka flocka i dont know if i need to listen to tony yayo rap over BMF too you feel me but what do i know i guess this is what the streets are asking for? i don’t know i live in halifax
-he always raps about the same things duh yeah kinda. i hope you guys are looking for songs about dealing drugs because this is a lot of songs about dealing drugs and also sometimes you’ll have to murder somebody or have sex somebody or possibly rob somebody but this is what you come to tony yayo for. it’s funny because odd future leaves me pretty cold and if i ever heard one of my friends saying any of these things i would be kind of disgusted but when tony yayo says them i am excited and happy and angry and the day after the conservatives got elected i listened to almost nothing but tony yayo for two days straight and that ‘aggressive content’ was like the only thing that kept me from jumping out at the best buy to start the looting so i don’t know, i’m not who this music is aimed at, should i feel guilty about that?
-hey so do i count as a ‘rap blogger’ now i hope so but honestly i don’t know anything about music or timbre or cadence i just know that there are some things that i like and some things i don’t so those were the things i liked about this mixtape by tony yayo, meyer lansky

this A$AP nast song i listened to it like eight times in a row today at work and then again twice so far when i got home i can’t handle it augh too good, he’s got this rad freestyle that’s been making the rounds too but what that foe kills me the voice crack in ‘paper chase’ and when that boom drum comes in and the synths and and and i’m trying to work on sounding all pitchfork or tom breihan or whatever but i just like what i like i can’t tell you why
these a$ap kids are pretty much the waviest thing out there right now (free max b though) i can’t find any actual information on them, other than whatever snippets are out there in a few blogs and cryptic clues on yams’ tumblr (i think its yams?) anyway rocky has a mixtape out soon and they just got a website or i just noticed it so Internet take notice and i know that i guess they’re derivative of screw or swag or whatever but, you know, shut up
just checked my itunes and i’ve listened to ‘get high‘ like too many times
